MEDITATION & MINDFUL LIVING
If I was to sum up my approach to teaching meditation & mindful living it would be ~ myth-busting.
I want to help people explore & try all the different types of meditation to find what works for them.
I'm dedicated to making meditation accessible so I have both free offerings & paid opportunities.
I would also always encourage you to try lots of different teachers and paths to practice.
Why am I so passionate about meditation?
Honestly?
Because it changed my life.
I came to meditation at a time in my life where I was at rock bottom in the midst of transition.
I was feeling depressed, lost, confused, uncertain, overwhelmed, having panic attacks... you get the picture.
It felt like my brain and body were betraying me ~ I couldn't control my thoughts, emotions or sensations and was living in a constant state of disequilibrium. I had no trust in myself & couldn't see a way out.
I had finally reached the point where I dropped to my knees and said "there must be a better way"
I decided that in order to feel different, I had to be and do differently ~ brain, body & breath.
BRAIN ~ BODY ~ BREATH
I began therapy ~ exploring different approaches like CBT, EMDR and mind mapping.
I began exercising ~ using this as a grounding activity to move energy and find focus.
I began meditating ~ discovering how my breath is the key to changing state of being.
It was through these three things that I navigated my way through, and to, what feels good to me.
I found freedom with ~ not from ~ my fears, loss, grief, notions of care, self & belonging.
She founded Re~Creation as her safe space to share what she has discovered along the way, hoping to be able to help others who may be experiencing transitions of all kinds discover their own unique path.
Meditation was a foundational practice that transformed her experience of both transition & daily life.
At first, it was extremely intimidating.
At first glance, I saw people sitting cross-legged, eyes closed and seemingly at peace.
I felt restless, my mind kept bringing up traumatic memories and I felt anything but peaceful.
The more I researched, the more ways I found to meditate & be meditative.
I could meditate with mantras, during activities, while cleaning my house.
I could meditate while moving, while speaking, while being with others.
It didn't have to be silent, still and in solitude.
In fact, it could be whatever worked for me.

Once I took the suction cup off my face to see all the opportunities, I began to practice daily.
The more I practiced, the better I felt. The better I felt, the more I was able to...
Sit in silence.
Sit in stillness.
Sit in solitude.
What had once felt impossible, unimaginable and beyond uncomfortable...
Became possible, desirable and comfortable even on my most uncomfortable days.
It has made me a better caregiver to myself, others & the world.
It has made me a better friend, daughter, sister, aunt, coach, colleague, citizen.
It has changed how I show up in the world & what shows up for me in return.
It has helped me to stop seeking outside of myself to feel better, but instead trusting I have all I need.
It has helped me to find the best available in every moment ~ whether chopping wood, walking with friends, savouring the first bite of food, the feeling of laughter, the release of tears, time spent with animals, smiles from strangers, capturing moments on camera & everything in between.

Through meditation I've discovered relief & resilience which led to renewal in my life and rediscovered fun.
I believe that life is an adventure, lived best by being powerfully present with what each moment brings.
Meditation & mindful living are practices that allow us to do that.
It comes is so many different shapes & forms there is bound to be one that works for you.
I believe the greatest gift we can give another person is our full presence.
